Black Heritage Breakfast: A Powerful Call to Action for Black Economic & Cultural Transformation

share to

The Black Heritage Breakfast, presented by PNC Bank & the Black Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County, Inc., was more than just a networking event—it was a rallying point for Black economic empowerment, leadership development, and cultural transformation.

A Beautiful Morning at the Press Room

Hosted at the elegant Press Room at Palm Beach Post, the atmosphere was vibrant with community leaders, business professionals, and changemakers eager to foster meaningful conversations and collective action.

Guests enjoyed a delicious catered breakfast from Big John’s Eatery, setting the stage for an impactful program focused on Black investment, financial literacy, mentorship, and career pathways in STEAM and trade schools.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Anthony Hamlet, Chairperson of Connect to Greatness

The highlight of the morning was an empowering keynote address by Dr. Anthony Hamlet, newly appointed Chairperson of Connect to Greatness.

Dr. Hamlet, a nationally recognized educational leader, equity advocate, and former Superintendent, delivered a powerful message on what it truly means to transform our communities and hold ourselves accountable for economic progress.

His speech focused on several key action points:

Transformation Requires Action – Change starts with self-accountability and must be followed by collective action. We must actively build leadership pipelines for Black professionals and youth.

Economic Empowerment & Black Investment – Black businesses and communities thrive when we support each other financially. We need greater investment in Black-owned businesses, homeownership, and entrepreneurship to close the racial wealth gap.

Mentorship & Youth Development – There is an urgent need for more Black male mentors to guide and uplift young men. Programs like Connect to Greatness equip Black boys with the tools they need to excel academically and become future leaders.

Preparing for Future Careers – We must increase exposure to STEAM fields, trade schools, and financial literacy programs so that Black youth can access high-paying careers and business opportunities.

Holding Each Other Accountable – Progress happens when we support and uplift each other. We must be intentional about creating opportunities that lead to sustainable economic success.
