Rhonda Rogers Joins West Palm Beach Center for Arts and Technology as Interim Executive Director

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – (November 5, 2021) – The West Palm Beach Center for Arts and Technology is proud to announce that Rhonda Rogers has been selected to serve as the interim executive director.

The WestPalmCAT, established in 2018, is a nonprofit organization that will serve the residents of the Historic NW community through innovative workforce and youth development opportunities.

The WestPalmCAT has adopted the operating principles of the Manchester Bidwell Corporation, in Pittsburgh PA. Vice President of MBC, Joanna Papada, “We are invited by urban and rural communities to assist them in rebuilding and redefining relationships between citizens and institutions and we do that by establishing learning environments that are anchored to neighborhoods, where residents feel and foster a sense of belonging, where people respect each other, are valued and treated with dignity.” 

 “I’m so excited to lead this innovative organization whose mission is to inspire, motivate, and prepare youth and adults for career opportunities and success through arts and job training programs,” Ms. Rogers said.

A strong advocate for high-quality educational services for vulnerable populations, Ms. Rogers is the former CEO and president of Lake Worth West Resident Planning Group, Inc. and former director of community engagement and support for Prime Time Palm Beach County in Boynton Beach.

She specializes in developing and overseeing new and innovative programs, which provide a wide variety of academic and social skills for adults and children. Her commitment to families, children, and youth, as well as to high-quality programs, spans more than 28 years.

In addition, Ms. Rogers is the national first vice president of programs and chapter president of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, West Palm Beach Chapter, and she’s chapter president and member of the South Palm Beach County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Ms. Rogers is also a board member of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County.

Located in the Historic Northwest neighborhood of West Palm Beach, the organization launched the first “Summer Youth Arts Pilot Program” in 2020 that engaged youth in digital and visual arts training. The program was done in partnership with the Dreyfoos School of the Arts (DSOA), The Knight Foundation, and the Salvation Army. Read more here.
