June 2021 Caribbean American Heritage Month | Meet Allison Allison Boettcher, Owner Blue Mountain Coffee House

In recognition of the rich history, culture, and contributions of people of Caribbean descent, each year Caribbean American Heritage Month is celebrated throughout the world during the month of June.

The Black Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County (BCCPBC) is taking this opportunity to recognize #BCCPBC Caribbean American business owners and leaders.

Meet Allison Allison Boettcher, Owner Blue Mountain Coffee House located at 540 Clematis Street (Corner of Rosemary Ave).

Welcome to Blue Mountain Coffee House Home of “The World’s Best Coffee”!

Blue Mountain Coffee is incomparable to any other coffee bean. It is harvested, roasted, and transported from the highest peaks of Blue Mountain in Jamaica, as well as our family-owned estate, which is then directly shipped to our local coffee house.

BLUE MOUNTAIN COFFEE HOUSE
…Exclusively Authentic and Naturally the Best

January 28th, 2020 marked the date of my grand opening. Less than 2 months into the business, COVID-19 hit the nation and many businesses were forced to close. With no prior retail experience, I drew upon my finance background to operate lean and cost-efficiently, while applying marketing strategies that required optimizing my zero social media skills.

With only 8 full weeks in business, I had formed a small network of loyal customers, who were determined to keep my doors open. Other pivotal factors included meetings hosted by politicians, government officials, and groups such as the Black Lives Matter movement that led to Blue Mountain Coffee House becoming a small political hub overnight. It represented a place where people felt safe.

@bluemountaincoffeehouse Vice Mayor Katrina-Long Robinson Commissioner Christina Lambert came in for breakfast.

Without any existing capital, it was my loyal customers, my determination, and most importantly God’s grace that kept Blue Mountain Coffee House open.

@bluemountaincoffeehouse @omarihardy stopped by to have a cup of Blue Mountain Coffee!
